Why the Common Fiscal is a butcher bird
Common Fiscals impale their caught prey on spikes of bushes and trees. They do this either to store their food while they continue hunting other prey. They use the spikey bush as a larder. Also the spikes help them tear up the food in more edible parts. This is why they are also called Butcher Birds.
